So whaddya do when the coldest temps that Alabama has seen since the 40s and icy mountains roads make going anywhere a bad idea? Why, you stay home and eat, of course! The puppies has their first “food” today – kibble soaked in goat’s milk – yum! They thought it was fabulous, caught on very quickly, and were surprisingly neat eaters.
(And in case you wanted to know, in the “puppy star”, starting at 12 o’clock and going clock-wise are Tripp, Tucker, Cassie, Sirri, Quinn, Libby, Dori, and Darla.)
Oh, how sweet! We were wondering when they’d go more “haute cuisine.” Glad to hear they enjoyed it. Also, love the new camera angle on the puppycam — the pups look so much closer, it makes it easier to watch. Their more playful antics are a hoot! And they are getting fuzzier! We can’t wait to meet them in person. 🙂

We took the no longer used whelping box out of the pen and gave them a lot more room. They had another first today too. At the “bottom” of the cam, just out of your view is the new “potty box”, a low-sided retangular plastic container with pine shavings in it. They have taken to that pretty easily too, which will help to make clean up easier. Cheery’s not certain than she’s ready to be relieved of that responsibility; she seems a little uneasy about it being there, but I’m sure she’ll get used to it shortly and be happy to give up that part of motherhood.
