Hungry puppies, tired Cheery!

Hungry puppies, tired Cheery!

Here are Cheery and her babies doing what they mostly do. So sorry for the delay in posting; it’s amazing how much time you can waste just watching puppies eat and sleep! If you want to waste time too the “puppy cam” is now functional.

(I will warn those with small children at home that we will be banding tails this evening and it will be another 4-5 days before they drop off. If you think this may upset them, you might not want to turn on the cam until later next week. I’ll let you know when they’re all done.)

Hi, Leslie! The girls and I are loving the puppycam! (We had a talk about the banded tails, and they are fine with it. It never ceases to amaze me that they are actually growing up and can handle more than I think they can!) This morning, we saw you taking the puppies out of the whelping box, two at a time. We are curious — what were you doing? We also saw Cheery hop out of the box for a few minutes, though not very far away — mamas sometimes need some space! She looks like she’s handling this first experience with mamahood very well. 🙂

We were also curious about the “collars” around the puppies’ necks. Can you enlighten us?

Michael asked me to let you know that he’s decided against a show dog. Agility is more up his (and Adele’s) alley! Amelia and I lean towards therapy, although agility is fun, too!

    Best,
    Ellen, Amelia, and Adele

We have spent quite a bit of time (“wasted”!) on the puppycam site. It’s fantastic and intriguing, too!

I was taking them out to weigh them; twice daily to make sure everyone is gaining. I’ll post their weight chart soon so you can see what little piggies they are! (And I really have to do better about remembering that cam is there. You caught me in my pj’s ; what my mother would have said!) Although the colors don’t show up very well under the heat lamp, the collars are different colors and help me to know who’s who until I learn their markings, etc. Cheery is typically out to potty and eat, and I’m checking her too, her temp, the incision from the c-section, signs of mastitis, and of course, give her a little lovin’ too.

I am so proud of the nurturer my party girl has become! It’s funny/lovely to see her count noses every time she comes back from being away from them.

Tell Michael it’s addictive. I started out in competition obedience and thought the ladies with their “pretty corgis” was so silly. I was in the conformation ring with my first show dog in about a year! LOL! Once you get started in the “dog world” it’s easy to get in deep! But if you never do, that’s fine as well, you’ll still have a wonderful friend and that’s the most important thing, isn’t it?

Glad you’re all enjoying the puppy cam!

Aw, I remember when I would get the photo updates from Bobby about this age! What a great way to let everyone have “a peek” and get their puppy fix 😉 sooo lucky! 8 corgi puppy’s, I’m so jealous now! Bella starts her kindergarten classes next month and Bobby his level 2 (hopefully) so I know I have my hands too full right this second, so I will have to admire from the web 🙂 I love how the second puppy from the right has his/her arm around the last one, too cute!

Auntie Jinnie is mad that she can’t get the puppy cam to work at home or legally in the office! As the whelper helper I have a vest interest and it is driving me nuts not being able to see them.

Sent my wife the link to the website and she can’t wait to make a trip to Huntsville from Charleston to see the pups! Keep up the great work (and lovin’ to Cheery!).
